Smile Hotel Kyoto Shijo, Kyoto

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was super convenient with easy access to major attractions and close to the city center. The rooms, however, were quite small, more like a shoebox, which made it impractical for accommodating two suitcases. The service was top-notch, with staff being very friendly and helpful but the dining cost was a bit high considering the limited options available.

The hotel offers a special price for a 2-night stay. The rooms, although small, are clean and more modern than other hotels we've visited. However, there were issues with dust, poor quality toilet paper, and slow, unreliable internet. The key system for lights was inconvenient.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel stay. The location is superb, surrounded by good ramen restaurants and close to shopping districts and public transport stops. The staff, although cheery and accommodating, fell short in making a reservation for a taxi. On the downside, the room cleanliness left much to be desired, especially the worn-out carpet and dirty chair. The dining options were limited, favoring only oriental style cuisines.
